Six Euro-Mediterranean institutes have joined their expertise in the ESTEEM project. They are:

CTL at the “Sapienza” University of Rome is a centre of excellence founded in 2003. Its activities encompass research on transport systems, and logistics and practical applications. CTL research sectors are transport planning, logistics, road safety, ICT, innovative transport systems. CTL works with academic, corporate, public-sector in Italy and abroad and participated in various European projects (CityMobil, SafetyNet, Freightwise). |

EMI (Ecole Mohammadia d'Ingénieurs) is part of the ‘Université Mohamed V-Agdal’ of Morocco, and consists of eight departments. One of them is the Department of Industrial Engineering (DGI), specially working on manufacturing, project management and logistics. It has a transportation laboratory (LERT) which is particularly focused on transportation and logistic issues. Its research background covers the domain of railway transport as well as road traffic and maritime transportation. More specifically, in the railway sector DGI is experienced in safety and security, while in the road sector it carried out an accidents database and it is qualified in accident and risk analysis. |

IMED, the Mediterranean Institute, is a no-profit organization operating in the Euro-Mediterranean region according to three strategic axes: social and economic development, citizenship and culture. Among its priority interventions in the field of regional and territorial development, IMED contributed to the implementation of many projects promoting the dissemination of know-how and best practices.

INRIA The French national institute for research in informatics and control is dedicated to fundamental and applied research in information and communication science and technology (ICST). The INRIA team coordinates and transfers research efforts that can be applied to the field of Automated Road. The goal is to improve road transportation in terms of safety, efficiency, comfort, and pollution minimisation. The technical approach focuses on traffic management and on advanced driver assistance systems, possibly leading to full automation. |

TRAKTEPLAN is a consulting group in the field of civil engineering specialised mainly in transport infrastructure and planning as well as in project management. Fully independent of any economic group, the company operates both in Spain (mainly transport sector) and abroad. It has worked in EU projects in the field of the R&D framework programmes and INTERREG Programme. |

UNIBATNA Hadj Lakhdar University of Batna (Algeria) is a large university with more than 55,000 students. It is multidisciplinary and consists of seven faculties and one institute. In terms of specialized training in the field of transport, the university is authorized in two types of training: Master degree in transport economics and logistics and a course in graduate school in transport economics and logistics. The University of Batna is also very active in research on transport and security.
